What is Amir Khan Net Worth?
A former professional boxer in the United Kingdom named Amir Khan has an estimated net worth of $40 million. Amir Khan is one of the British boxers with the highest history earnings, and from 2014 to 2016, he was the title of the WBC Silver welterweight division.
In the Beginning
Although Amir Iqbal Khan was born in Bolton, England, he is a descendant of the Janjua Ranjput, which is a royal warrior clan of Pakistan, the country that his family calls home. He graduated his degree from Bolton Community College and comes from a long line of athletes in his family. Although boxing is his primary concentration, he is also a skilled athlete in the sports of cricket, football, and basketball. When he was in elementary school, he began winning in boxing and won many accolades and titles by the time he was 11 years old, including gold in the Junior Olympics in 2003 and multiple Junior ABA titles. After that, he went on to compete for Britain in the Summer Olympics in 2004 and ended up winning the silver medal.
Boxing at the Professional Level
It was in 2008 when he began his career as a professional boxer by winning the Commonwealth Lightweight title after defeating Martin Kristjansen. Winning a string of victories in the ring, he parted ways with his longtime trainer Oliver Harrison. After that, he began working out with Jorge Rubio, but it did not turn out to be a productive partnership. After some time, he began working with Freddie Roach and eventually got back into his groove. As he went on to win more and more professional fights over the course of his career, the amount of money he made in each fight shot through the roof.
On December 11, 2010, Amir Khan faced the Argentine Marcos Maidana in what many commentators consider to be the most significant victory of Khan’s career. This was his fourth attempt at defending the WBA world super-lightweight title he currently holds. It was dubbed the “Fight of the Year” by the Boxing Association of America (BAA), and it more than lived up to the billing. Khan got off to a flying start, knocking out “El Chino” with a powerful body shot in the opening round of their fight. But the fight went on, and in the tenth round, Maidana knocked Khan down with a powerful overhand right. Khan was reeling after that punch. However, despite the challenges he faced, Amir managed to pull off one of the most resilient rounds of his whole career. Khan was awarded victory in the fight by way of a unanimous decision, with the judges’ scores reading 114-111, 114-111, and 113-112.
Amir Khan made the announcement that he was retiring from boxing on May 13, 2022. He finished his career with a record of 34-6 and 21 knockouts.
Earnings
Amir Khan has asserted that he had earned more than $80 million over his career as a boxing. In the fight between Khan and Malignaggi in 2010, the purse on HBO was $1.5 million, and Amir took home $1.1 million of it. Paulie was awarded the remaining $400,000. Khan was scheduled to earn $1.5 million from the aforementioned fight against Maidana, while Maidana was expected to earn $550,000. When he fought Canelo Alvarez in 2016, he earned one of the most lucrative paydays of his career. It was guaranteed that he would receive $2 million, while Alvarez would receive $3.5 million. However, because Khan received forty percent of the PPV shares, this brought his total pay for the single fight up to almost twenty million dollars.
